The department of URDU isestablished year 1965 at M.V.S Govt.Arts&ScienceCollege and catering to the needs of students of Mahabubnagar. Who have developed a great passion towards urduMVS Govt. College offer all importantcourses like B.Com and B.A with Urdu as an important medium of intrusion. There are more than 300 students opting Urdu as the medium of instruction. Therefore the department of urdu stands at the core position at M.V.S Govt. Degree College.
The department of urdu functionswithin the ambit of the department of Languages and mainly emphasis on Urdu as the second language.

About the Faculty:

          The department of urdu has been functioning under the guidance of Dr. M. Nizamuddin who in an eminent researcher in URDU literature. Dr.M.Nizamuddin took his M.A., M.Phil. And Ph.D. in urdu from Sri Venkateswara University Tirupathi. He is also an UGC NET holder in urdu. Who has participated in three national seminars and published two articles in national journalsDr. M.Nizamuddin is also serving the college in the capacity of Editor in URDU to Usha Kiranalu. The Magazine published by the college.
